Venue information

If you are shooting sunrise at the lake you should head towards the west side, so that you can get an east-facing viewpoint across the lake. There is a handy parking area at a picnic site about a mile from the dam on this side of the lake, or you can drive or walk further along the lake. For sunset shots try the picnic area around 2 miles north of the dam on the east side of the lake. From both parking areas it's a short walk to the shore of the lake, but both have very good access.

Venue Verdict: Lake Vyrnwy is a beautiful, tranquil location with plenty of photogenic spots.

    Lake vyrnwy (as correctly spelt) is a typical welsh landscape, plenty of potential photographs and alot of calander photographs have come from this very spot... it is highly recommendable if you just want to sit and take a picnic whilst taking photo's or you can hire a cycle and ride around the lake itself (which takes around 2 hours on a cycle) it is a place where i continue to go back to year after year as its constantly changing and you always find something different every year.
