Lake Vyrynwy

Directions: The lake can be reached by taking the A495 from Oswestry, then turning onto the A490 to Lanfyllin. Grid ref SJOOO214
Accessibility: There are parking areas all around the road that circles the lake.
Costs: None
Best time to visit: You can choose between both sunrise and sunset depending on whether you shoot from the east or west of the lake.

Venue information

If you are shooting sunrise at the lake you should head towards the west side, so that you can get an east-facing viewpoint across the lake. There is a handy parking area at a picnic site about a mile from the dam on this side of the lake, or you can drive or walk further along the lake. For sunset shots try the picnic area around 2 miles north of the dam on the east side of the lake. From both parking areas it's a short walk to the shore of the lake, but both have very good access.

Venue Verdict: Lake Vyrnwy is a beautiful, tranquil location with plenty of photogenic spots.

    The Hotel over looking the lake is lovely, and the balcony provides the perfect spot for beautifull sunset photographs!
