Venue information

Red Deer (even white Red deer... no they are not albino!) There are also a great many old and interesting breeds of farm animals, wildfowl, poultry; even llamas and wallaby.

Venue Verdict: Animals here not seen anywhere else – very good for rare breeds of farm animals.

We travelled to Jedforrest Deer Park a couple of years ago with my daughters (8 & 5 at the time) and nephew (11). They had a fantastic time seeing the animals - and where in there element because the piglets could escape the pen and they all got to hold them - meaning that I got some fantastic pictures off them all. Also you can feed most of the animals - again meaning you have some fantastic photo opportunities. They have a Birds of Prey area as well and do shows throughout the day. Also a lovely picnic area, woodland walk, playground and cafe. So would defiently recommend a visit - although not sure how accessible it would be to wheelchair users or with buggy;s etc. We also stopped off at nearby Jedburgh Abbey and got some great pictures of the kids dressed up in medieval costume - which they can wear whilst exploring the grounds! Defiently hoping to head back this Spring / Summer as the kids keep asking!
