From the car park at Surprise View you simply walk over the main road to Lawrence Field. Despite the fact that it has field in the name it's a rocky location, covered in heather and with several weather-beaten trees dotted around. This may not sound too attractive, but the trees are excellent subjects and the texture of the rocks and vegetation can provide excellent foreground interest to your shots. This is another location where the light needs to be spectacular to make the most of the views, so try to go at sunrise or sunset, and use the isolated trees as the focal point to your composition.
Venue Verdict: A desolate and eerie location, despite it only being a few yards from a main road.
