Venue information
The beautiful Dunnerdale Fells are much quieter and less crowded than the more popular northern fells of the Lake District. This makes them perfect for those who want more peace and quiet, and the views are spectacular. These southern fells are smaller scale than some of those further north, but this makes them easier to walk, and still give plenty of photographic opportunities. From the top of the nearby Great Stickle you can get superb views of the Duddon Estuary and the sea beyond to the west. As the name implies there are several small tarns around the summit of Tarn Hill that make excellent foreground interest for shots of both the sea views and the distant fells.
Venue verdict: the Dunnerdale Fells are a superb location if you want to get away from the crowds, and shoot some of the less well-known areas of the Lake District.
