VERY P****ED OFF!!

Just spent 20 mins on a very well thought out and entertaining rant only go and submit and be asked to enter my password.  I am already logged on to the site?  Why again.  It's the same if I cross to the gallery to submit a picture!!

Entered what I'm sure to be my password - twice.  Went to reset password.  Thought to copy my text first ... got f*****ing truly frustrated by the advert popup plaguing this site.  Forgot to copy text.  Reset passport.  Original post lost.

Now, very, very unhappy.

Please guys ... surely logged in is logged in ... and stop fleecing us with the bloody pop ups.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: VERY P****ED OFF!!

if i take ages to post it signs me out and asks me for password and my user name shows up as user id: 15938 or similar, thing is you have to delete the username and enter owen.c93 for it to work. cost me a few posts before i worked that out.

This site also seems to have more " slow days" too.

I get signed out too but if i wait a few minutes it just takes me back in without entering my password or user name. The site is definitely having more slow days though

It tends to sign out when you've been inactive for over ten minutes or so, this can be very annoying if you have it minimized whilst doing something else, Also, when writing a long post, it helps if you can type quickly. My dad wouldn't stand a chance! Lol

oh and the nikon pop up?...one word..AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'd better come up smelling sweet, because you're a long time stinking

focusing problems

Hi Guys,

I've just bought a nikkor 70-200mm VR lense for my D60, was really excited to try it out.

Really dissapointed with results...focusing is soft/blurred, camera beeps and focus light is lit but then as the shutter release is depressed it very slightly alters the sharp focus.

Took over 100 test photos in all programs nd tried diffent focusing modes off and on a tripod, the only thing that works is assigning AF to the AF/AE lock button and pressing that after depressing the shutter release button half way before shooting...what a peformance!

Thank God it's digital and not 35mm film and I can delete 99.9% of them. I get better quality with my Canon Ixus compact!

Anyone got any ideas, I'd be pleased for any advice?

Polly

Garry, what i do now, having lost some long posts, is to type my  post in Word or WorPad etc, then copy and paste into the message box in one quick hit.    regards, nigel

Re: VERY P****ED OFF!!

It may not work for everyone, but when this happens to me, I generally find that if I cancel the request to sign in, I can then copy the text to make sure it isn't lost; then hitting F5 to refresh the screen magically logs me back in, and I can carry on as before.

It only happens to me if I'm typing a reply, so there must be something about the routine that accepts typed input that has a problem.

BTW, can't we use the word that's asterisked out in the title? It occurs several times in the authorised version of the Bible...

Edit to add

Having just used the word asterisk, I'm reminded that many people pronounce and write it "asterist". A similar error I recall someone invariably making was to use the phrase "state of the ark" for "state of the art". Bearing in mind the age of Noah's ark, perhaps certain forum software is "state of the ark"? Not that I'd ever suggest it, of course...
