How to create starbursts

Turn bright image highlights into twinkling stars. You don’t need any special effects filters to create this effect and it works especially well with the sun or streetlamps in low light conditions.
Start by selecting aperture-priority mode on your camera using the mode selector, and then choose a really small aperture such as f/22 (the smaller the aperture the more exaggerated the star effect will become).
Now take some pictures containing at least one bright light. Don’t forget to use a tripod because camera shake can be a problem when using such a small aperture-slow shutter speed combination.
