ND (Neutral Density) Grad Filter

ND grads come in the form of small glass sheets that you can hold in front of your lens. The best option is to invest in a filter holder that attaches to the front of your lens. ND grads have a higher density at the top than at the bottom; graduating from, for example, 1 stop underexposure at the top, to normal exposure at the bottom. Because they’re neutral, they only change exposure, not colour, contrast or anything else. They’re mostly used in landscape photography to darken skies while leaving the middle and foreground to expose correctly.
