Flattening Layers

Choosing Flatten Image will reduce your file size by merging all visible layers into the background and discarding any hidden layers. Any transparent areas that remain are filled with white.
To carry out the flattening choose Layer > Flatten Image or equally head to Flatten Image from the layers palette menu.
