The Adobe Camera Raw is a piece of software that’s included as a plug-in with Adobe Photoshop and gives the user the ability to import and work with Camera Raw Files.
To process images using the Camera Raw, select the files you wish to import in Bridge, choosing File from the Menu bar, selecting Open In Camera Raw. Equally dragging a Raw file onto your Photoshop Icon will open up an image into the Camera Raw Interface.
The advantage of using the Camera Raw to make image adjustments is that the original Raw image data is preserved and you can always return to the original Raw image should you need to.
As new camera models are released onto the market, new versions of Camera Raw become available and you can check for the latest Camera Raw versions by choosing Help from the Menu Bar, selecting Updates.
