22 July 2008 12:44
National Diplomas are two year vocational courses aimed at both adults and 16-19 year olds. Entry requirements for this course are a minimum of four GCSE passes at grades A-C. The course is the equivalent of two A-Levels at grades A-C offering students a direct route into higher education.
This is a full-time photography course where students will be learning the subject everyday. Starting with the basics, students complete modules that will develop their skills over the course. During the first year students undertake a range of projects that could include; studio still life, portraiture, advertising, editorial newspaper and technical photography.
The second year offers students the opportunity to specialise in their chosen field. Additional emphasis may be placed upon developing computer skills appropriate to digital imaging, design history, photographic theory and computer graphics. This makes an excellent level 3 course for both teenagers and adults looking to improve skills and/or embark on a career in photography.
