Higher National Diplomas are practical, vocational training that prepare students for a career in a particular industry. Modules on HND Photography could include; advertising photography, colour darkroom practice, curating and participating in exhibitions, digital media, fashion photography, location photography, Location techniques, monochrome darkroom practice, press and photojournalism and Studio techniques.
This directed range of modules intended to equip students with the necessary skills to enter the industry immediately. Students looking for more room for experimentation may be more suited to a degree course.
This course is designed to offer flexibility and can be studied part-time, full-time, as a sandwich course or by distance learning. A HND takes two years to complete if studied full-time or three to four years part-time. They offer students a pathway where they can join the second, or in some cases the third year of an undergraduate degree programme.
