Foundation Degrees (Level 4)
22 July 2008 12:33
Foundation degrees are qualifications that combine academic study with workplace learning. They are designed to give students the skills and knowledge that businesses require. They are a new course offering a cheaper, more condensed alternative to the traditional degree.
Content is similar and at the same level, although condensed into two years full-time rather than three, and three to four years part-time. Upon successful completion, there is the option to progress on to an honours degree with a further 12 to 15 months of study. Learning takes place in a number of ways including distance learning, in the classroom, in the workplace or online.
