BTEC Foundation Art & Design (Level 3)

Foundation art & design is usually studied post AS/A2 Level. Mature individuals possessing a good portfolio of artwork can also gain entry to the course. The course prepares students for either employment or higher education through the further development of skills and a portfolio of work.
Art & Design Foundation is a one year intensive course designed to develop students’ critical engagement with their work and initiate self-directed learning. Help and advice regarding university applications and employment are offered by personal tutors during private tutorial sessions.
The course gives students a broad experience of a full range of Art & Design disciplines such as: Photography, Fine Art, 3D Design, Textiles & Fashion, Graphic Design and Printmaking. This is facilitated through a first term of rotation around these disciplines before specialising in the second term.
